My father collected a number of books and magazines as well as old brochures, flyers and other items relating to his cars.
As I archive and scan some of them I will make them available below. Please click the image icon to download or view.
These are mostly old Lamborghini and Ferrari memorabilia.
This PDF (approx 176 Megabytes) has scans of the old Lamborghini Club Magazine as well as related scans of articles found inside about the “upcoming Diablo” or the “New Countach” as it was being called at the time. It also includes scans of the old “Classifieds” that were included plus forms for the 9th Lamborghini Gathering at Monterey / Pebble Beach in August for the 25th Anniversary of Lamborghini.
There are some interesting articles and period advertisements found throughout. Enjoy!
This is a 3 page fold out flyer advertising for the Concour Italiano in 1988 at the Quail Lodge Resort & Golf Club in Carmel, CA. I imagine this is basically the early versions of what is today the Concorso Italiano during Monterey Car Week in August. The featured marque appears to be Alfa Romeo and the flyer also lists Ferrari Club of America cars and a Corral for Porsche as well.
This is a scan of an old newsletter sent to lambo club owners back in 1989. Some amusing stuff and cool retro nostalgia. The “Countach at Gunpoint” story about a car down in the OC was quite a fun read. It is also interesting to note how small and private these were as member information from addresses to phone numbers was freely shared back in the day as all of this was print and traditional mail.
These are for sale ads printed out for club owners. These are usually associated with a specific issue of the club magazine, but I stored them separately so this is also available as its own download. I wish the 1992 Countach prices were todays Countach prices. Hah.
This is a 218 meg PDF of the 1992 issue of the club magazine. There are some cool ads and articles from the period plus for sale ads at the end. This issue includes information on The Chrysler Technology Center, Diablo Speedster, a large section on Design, Lamborghini 3500GTZ and more.
This is a small brochure for the Diablo VT from a leasing company in Palo Alto, CA.
This is a 132 meg PDF of the 1996 issue of the club magazine. There are some cool ads and articles and of course lots of photos of Diablos. Sadly there are several fairly sexist or racist advertisements as well so read at your own risk. In addition to the Lamborghini articles there is also an article on the Vector M12 under new Lamborghini ownership and a few pages on Kit Cars and related ads.
This is a folder with printed pages to fill out for an event in late 1997 in France at the Dijon Circuit.
This is another Matador’s Chronicle – Lamborghini Club America Magazine from Spring of 1998. This issue has a number of interesting articles and photos from various events in the US plus a page on the event above in France. There are also some pages included after as an addendum that include information on the upcoming “Super Diablo” for 2000 and then Monterey event forms for that 1998 year. There is also an interview with Valentino Balboni about what it is like to be a test driver.
This 200meg PDF is another great Lambo Club Magazine. This issue has a lot more color photos and color pages in it that most previous issues. It also covers the Countach anniversary in 2001 at Car Week, Some San Diego and Las Vegas meets, various peoples tours, and some articles like one on Espada work. The issue is a full 54 pages and I also included the additional print pages for price list and classified ads and such as normal.
This is a 23 page newsletter from Ferrari Club of America which includes local events, racing updates, advertisements and for sale ads circa the middle of 2001.
This is a 15 page newsletter from Ferrari Club of America which includes local events, racing updates, advertisements and for sale ads from the end of 2001. There is also a page with some information on the Ferrari 550 GTO Maranello.
This is another newsletter printed for the Lambo owners club in December of 2001. Most of the print is dedicated to discussing the upcoming Murcielago and lamenting the switch from Italian to German design and engineering changes. There are some interesting small ads and info including some “helpful hints for Espada owners”.
The “Matador’s Chronicle” appears to be a national club magazine from 2002. There are a few images and articles with older cars, mostly the Diablo ads at the back cover and a large article on Al Burtoni’s Diablo Jota Americana – though most of the magazine is of course to cover the “new” Murcielago.
This is a PDF document made of an early owners manual of a 2004 US Spec car by “GoatPuncher” on the Lamborghini-Talk forum.
